Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Mezza Chef to join our culinary team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As a Mezza Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing a diverse range of Middle Eastern appetizers and small plates that showcase the rich flavors and traditions of the region.


  1. Prepare and oversee the production of a wide variety of mezza dishes, ensuring consistency and quality
  2. Develop and refine mezza recipes, incorporating both traditional and innovative techniques
  3. Collaborate with the head chef to create seasonal menus and daily specials
  4. Manage inventory, place orders, and control food costs for the mezza section
  5. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen
  6. Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in mezza preparation techniques
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  8. Assist in other kitchen duties as needed during peak hours

Qualifications

  1. Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized culinary institution
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Mezza Chef or in a similar role
  3. Extensive knowledge of Middle Eastern cuisine, particularly mezza dishes
  4. Strong knife skills and proficiency in various food preparation techniques
  5. Expertise in menu planning and recipe development
  6. Proven experience in high-volume restaurant kitchens
  7. Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  8. Current food safety certification
  9. Proficiency in operating and maintaining kitchen equipment
  10. Strong time management and multitasking abilities
  11. Effective team leadership and communication skills
  12. In-depth knowledge of Middle Eastern flavors, ingredients, and cooking techniques
  13. Understanding of dietary restrictions and allergen management
  14. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
  15. Creativity and passion for culinary innovation
