BAE Systems is seeking a Metrology Technician (Electrical) to join their team in Dhahran. BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor (PC) under the Government-to-Government arrangements to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We maintain Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF personnel in the use of their aircraft, equipment, and weapons. This role applies measurement science, mathematics, physics, and engineering principles to design and develop calibration processes for electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental, and chemical Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). It involves analyzing calibration problems, using statistics and measurement uncertainty, developing software, recommending standards, and maintaining calibration labs and quality systems.
As a Technician / Trainer Type II, you will implement RSAF and SNTTP training programs, mentoring trainees from Skill Level 3 to 7, ensuring effective training delivery. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert in mechanical or electrical measurement areas, providing guidance and advice to RSAF/SN Metrology Technicians. The role includes performing calibration, adjustments, repairs, and maintenance of TMDE associated with aircraft, weapons, and ground equipment, following RSAF standards.
You will manage resources effectively, maintain laboratory standards, stay updated on metrology methodologies, assist with training program implementation, ensure cleanliness and safety, deputize for supervisors when needed, and perform other tasks as directed. You will provide technical advice, knowledge transfer, safety guidance, and mentoring to RSAF and SN technicians to enhance their performance and training outcomes.
Qualifications include at least an Ordinary National Certificate or equivalent in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related fields, with a minimum of 4 years of formal calibration training and at least 5 years of practical experience in calibration and repair of TMDE, familiar with RSAF standards and ISO 17025. Strong communication, leadership, and computer skills are required, along with the ability to work tactfully with high-level personnel.
