Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking skilled Metal Fabricators specializing in steel structures, piping systems, and tank fabrication to join our workshop. The ideal candidates will have expertise in reading technical drawings, cutting, fitting, welding, and assembling metal components to high-quality standards. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Steel Structure Fabricator

· Fabricate and assemble structural steel components (beams, columns, frames, platforms).

· Interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.

· Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting of steel plates and sections.

· Preferred: Weld components using SMAW (Stick), MIG, or TIG processes.

· Ensure dimensional accuracy and alignment according to engineering specs.

· Fabricate and fit industrial piping systems (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy pipes).

· Perform pipe cutting, beveling, threading, and bending.

· Preferred: Assemble and weld pipe spools using TIG, MIG, or orbital welding techniques.

· Conduct pressure tests and inspections for leaks and defects.

· Follow ASME, ANSI, or API standards for pipe fabrication.

· Fabricate storage tanks, pressure vessels, and silos from steel plates.

· Roll, bend, and shape metal plates using press brakes, rollers, and shears.

· Preferred: Weld tank shells, bottoms, and roofs using submerged arc welding (SAW) or FCAW.

· Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) and hydrostatic tests.

· Ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII or API 650 standards.

General Duties for All Fabricators:

· Inspect fabricated parts for defects, warping, or misalignment.

· Follow workshop safety guidelines (PPE, LOTO, hazard awareness).

· Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Assist in lifting, rigging, and material handling as needed.

Desired Candidate Profile

· Technical Skills:

o Ability to read fabrication sketches.

o Knowledge of metal properties, welding codes, and fit-up techniques.

o Familiarity with fabrication tools (grinders, drills, clamps, jigs).

o Basic math skills (measurements, angles, tolerances).

Soft Skills:

· Strong attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently or in a team.
