Job description

Job Title: Metal Shop Specialist
Job Location: Saudi Arabia

Salary: 7000 - 8000 SAR/Month + FAT

Notice Period: 0-45 Days.

Job Purpose

The Melting Shop operates with a 30-ton Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), 60-ton Ladle Furnace (LF), 60-ton Vacuum Degassing (VD) unit, and Intermediate Frequency (IF) furnaces of 15-ton and 5-ton capacities. The Specialist is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the melting shop, including furnace operations, melting processes, and workforce management. The role also involves assisting the Shop Manager in decision-making and executing key operational decisions to optimize production and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and manage daily production activities in the melting shop, ensuring smooth operations of all furnaces.
  2. Review and finalize weekly production plans and work orders.
  3. Control and optimize melting costs while maintaining production efficiency.
  4. Manage raw materials, alloys, and other inputs required for the melting process.
  5. Lead and supervise the field workforce, ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards.
  6. Plan and manage facility investments and improvements.
  7. Coordinate with maintenance and production control teams to ensure effective maintenance and production planning.
  8. Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and cost efficiency.
  9. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards within the melting shop.

Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in EAF and IF melting.
  3. Additional experience in ingot making, forging, or casting is preferred.
  4. Strong knowledge of thermodynamics in melting and refining processes.
  5. Proven ability in cost analysis, control, and cost-saving strategies.
  6. Capability to develop, set up, and improve work standards and operational instructions.
  7. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  8. Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
  9. Effective communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and management.
