Job description

• Performs analyses, test and procedures while ensuring accuracy of the patient test results per established Laboratory standards.
• Performs all quality control (QC) procedures relevant to the area of specialty.
• Performs all duties using universal precautions and appropriate protective equipment as required to reduce exposure to infection, blood borne pathogens and hazardous materials.
• Maintains confidentiality relating to all matters dealt within the department.
• Manages and monitors the ongoing research activities of the core laboratory.
• Provides technical support to all equipment available in the laboratory that requires maintenance or installation.
• Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
• Assist, when required, the faculty in preparing for laboratory sessions by removing equipment from where it is stored, setting up equipment for student use, and returning physics equipment and material to designated storage locations after use.

To be considered for this role, you must have one of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or relevant field
• 2 years' experience as laboratory specialist.

Professional Experience:

• 2 years' experience as Laboratory specialist.
• Mandatory courses assigned by MOH or SCFHS or our client by law should be obtained the first 2 years of contract.

Specialized Knowledge:

• Basis Life Support (BLS) Certificate

Hours/Shift Work:

• You must complete 48 hours per week/ overtime will pay over 48 hours
