We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer (STP & Pumping stations) for site supervision in a large complex infrastructure project to ensure that our projects adhere to the strictest quality control and assurance measures.

Role Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineer for Site Supervision at Jacobs, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all Mechanical and Plumbing aspects of construction projects in Saudi Arabia. You will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of MEP systems, adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.

Make a difference. You will be a key part of our site supervision team and will be heavily involved in our infrastructure construction projects. Your duties will include:
  • Site Supervision
  • Overseeing day-to-day MEP site works, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Monitoring the progress of construction activities and taking necessary actions to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Performing regular site inspections and meetings with the contractor to identify and resolve issues and provide technical guidance to the on-site team.
  • Monitoring the contractor to ensure they follow the approved planning and resource allocation to complete the works on time.
  • Ensuring works comply with legal regulations and company procedures. Preparing project status reports and other documentation under the coordination of the RE.
  • Coordinating MEP installations with various trades, including architects, structural engineers, and subcontractors to avoid conflicts and ensure seamless project execution.
  • Providing technical guidance and solutions to address complex Mechanical issues arising during construction, ensuring optimal performance and functionality of systems.

Quality Assurance
  • Implementing and maintaining quality control measures to guarantee the delivery of high-standard infrastructure projects concerning MEP.
  • Conducting inspections and audits, supervising construction to ensure contractor compliance with design, specifications, quality, workmanship, and HSE standards.
  • Coordinating with the RE to ensure the project meets industry standards and building codes.
  • Staying updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in Mechanical engineering, incorporating innovative solutions into projects.

Safety and Compliance
  • Enforcing safety protocols and ensuring site personnel adhere to safety regulations and best practices.
  • Keeping up with local regulations to ensure full compliance with Saudi Arabian construction laws.

Team Collaboration
  • Fostering a collaborative work environment through effective communication with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Providing guidance, mentoring, and technical support to junior engineers and site staff.

Problem Solving
  • Identifying and resolving site-related issues, making informed decisions to keep the project on track.
  • Developing contingency plans to mitigate risks and respond to unexpected challenges.
  • Creating mitigation strategies for potential MEP risks in coordination with the RE and CRE.
  • Reporting and suggesting solutions for potential clashes.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on site supervision of STP and pumping stations.
  • Professional engineering license or certification is a plus.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills are advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in MEP design software and project management tools.
