Responsibilities
  • Lead project teams, work with, effectively delegate to and coach Junior team members to deliver effective results.
  • Develop and manage mechanical engineering projects or design deliverables for assigned projects, including investigations, report writing, design and construction administration.
  • Supporting and leading business development activities for the mechanical engineering group in Vancouver, as a client facing individual.
  • Developing, monitoring and maintaining project schedule and budget for mechanical engineering design deliverables.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency, accuracy, and neatness of mechanical engineering and deliverables as part of corporate QA/QC program.
  • Perform site investigations safely including travelling to site (including driving), walking around construction sites, carrying a ladder or other items (approximately 35lbs) around site and climbing ladder to access ceiling space, lowering self to observe mechanical services low to ground, and committing to safety regulations and requirements.
  • Participate in local and corporate sustainability initiatives to positively advance both corporate and industry developments.
  • Use software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP, and Microsoft Office to prepare deliverables as required.
Requirements
  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Professional Engineer registered with EGBC.
  • 8-12 years of relevant building systems design experience.
  • Established reputation in the local Buildings Mechanical Engineering industry.
  • Must have experience in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design for buildings, including utilization of applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
  • Has a desire to grow their career by progressively taking on more leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to develop a solution and be able to communicate it effectively with teammates, other disciplines, subcontractors, project managers and clients.
