RESPONSIBILITIES
Westlakes Recruit are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Saudi National) to be based on-site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, working on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to provide critical mechanical engineering support across high-profile projects, with a focus on technical leadership, system analysis, and cross-discipline collaboration.

About the Role:

1. Deliver mechanical engineering support to clients, contributing to the development and analysis of mechanical systems and equipment.
2. Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including diagrams, specifications, calculations, and design justifications.
3. Drive key design decisions through technical leadership and problem-solving.
4. Represent the engineering team in design reviews and presentations to stakeholders.
5. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and key project stakeholders.
6. Support and mentor junior engineers, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.

What We're Looking For:

1. Education: BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent in a relevant STEM discipline.
2. Chartership: Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working toward it - we offer full support on this journey.
3. Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a mechanical engineering role.
4. Technical Expertise: Experience in designing and delivering mechanical systems or equipment through the full project lifecycle.
5. Skilled in producing design deliverables (e.g., sizing calculations for fans, pumps, compressors, hydraulics, piping systems, etc.).
6. Familiar with design and safety standards (knowledge of Defence Standards is a plus, but not essential).
7. Software Knowledge: Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD or equivalent.
8. Professional Skills: Strong technical report writing skills and a proactive, professional approach.
9. Collaboration: Comfortable liaising with other design disciplines and contributing to project-wide coordination.
10. Adaptability: Willingness to learn new systems, travel for key meetings, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
