About the job Measurement & Verification Engineer

One of our clients in the renewable energy industry in Saudi Arabia is hiring for the position of a M&V Engineer.

Location: Riyadh

Years of Experience: 3 - 5

Education: HVAC/HVAC Engineering desired, including building controls and management systems.

Notice Period: Immediate joiners or a maximum one-month notice period.

  • Develop and implement M&V plans for energy savings performance contracting (ESPC) projects at various facilities.
  • Analyze and normalize utility data using linear regressions and other analyses.
  • Supervise baseline and pre/post-installation data collection, including trend data from building automation systems, field measurements, data loggers, and performance tests.
  • Provide technical assistance with ongoing review of data from energy management systems, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and energy savings analysis in coordination with the Asset Management Team.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual energy savings reports in line with IPMVP protocols and facilitate billing with customers.
  • Develop & implement Measurement & Verification (M&V) plans for ESPC projects.
  • Participate in data collection and performance verification of baseline and retrofitted equipment.
  • Conduct spot measurements and short-term data collection during the ESPC lifecycle as required.
  • Analyze energy management control systems operation, sequences, and trend data for system optimization and M&V plan compliance.
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting and data logging to validate and improve project performance.
  • Prepare savings performance analysis, reports, and presentations for customers; educate them on results.
  • Document all agreements and actions in customer Meeting Reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) is mandatory.
  • Experience with BMS is essential.

Experience

  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in a similar industry.
  • Desired experience in HVAC/HVAC engineering, including building controls and management systems.
  • 2-3 years' experience in energy savings calculations for performance contracting, with knowledge of M&V protocols.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of energy management companies / ESCOs.
  • Good interpersonal skills for maintaining client relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Power BI, Excel (including VBA), SQL, Access, Outlook, Tableau, and programming skills.
  • Experience with building energy simulation software like eQUEST, EnergyPlus, etc.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment in business solutions.
