Summary

We are looking for a middle school math teacher to join a dynamic and highly successful ASD middle school team. The position involves teaching math to middle school students.

Position Duties

The Successful Candidate Will Be Able To Effectively

1. Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).
2. Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearly defined and documented curriculum.
3. Deliver an active, hands-on, and student-centered program to promote learning in mathematics courses for middle school students.
4. Maintain students' attendance records, grades, and other required records.
5. Evaluate and grade students' classwork and assignments.
6. Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
7. Assist students who need extra help with their coursework outside of class.
8. Observe, monitor, and record student progress.
9. Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs and abilities within the class.
10. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
11. Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
12. Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
13. Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
14. Support district and school initiatives with professionalism.
15. Demonstrate creativity.
16. Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
17. Encouraged involvement in student after-school activities or coaching/assistant coaching athletic teams.
18. Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff at all times.
19. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or the Assistant Principals.

Qualifications And Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have:

1. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a major/minor in mathematics.
2. A Master’s degree is preferred.
3. Certification as a teacher.

Experience And Skills

1. Previous experience as a middle school math teacher.
