Job Purpose:
- Act as an indirect/direct buyer in the Materials Planning department of LSA for specific material groups to ensure materials are purchased and received on time according to the production schedule.
- Play a key role in strategic process transformation in materials and demand planning management.
- Be responsible for running MRP to meet overall production levels as per parameters and factory load.
Key Accountabilities:
- Purchase materials required for scheduled production based on Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning.
- Run MRP in Microsoft AX system for all aspects of material planning requirements.
- Coordinate with department heads for material planning.
- Ensure adherence to rules and processes, maintaining process standardization.
- Develop competence in ERP system (AX), update master data, maintain inventory policies, supplier codes, price lists, and safety stock, and evaluate inventory impact.
- Participate in internal & external ISO quality audits within the Material Planning department.
- Support expediting material deliveries aligned with the production schedule.
- Update MRP parameters and maintain safety stock levels as per factory load.
Job Context:
The position is responsible for:
- Ensuring material availability for production according to SIOP & weekly plans.
- Managing material availability with minimal stock loss, optimal safety stock, and maintaining high accuracy (>99.2%) in material availability to production.
- Maintaining system data and parameters related to MRP.
- Optimizing material costs and lead times to meet yearly targets.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, or Engineering with a Supply Chain Professional certificate.
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Over 3 years in a Direct/Indirect Purchase role within a manufacturing company, preferably in the switchgear industry.
Job-Specific Skills:
- Strong negotiation and persuasive skills, with technical knowledge of electrical materials and suppliers regionally and internationally.
- Experience in vendor development and sourcing supplies.
- Experience working with global suppliers.
- Proactive, takes initiative, and embraces additional responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Data-driven, logical thinking, and integrity are essential.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft AX.
- Experience in the Middle East market is an advantage.
