Job description

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the material process, including receiving, storing and ensuring accurate tracking of all materials, equipment and supplies.
  • Manage the handling and storage of repair shop materials to maintain an organized workspace.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels, orders and deliveries using SAP and internal records.
  • Monitor material levels and place orders for supplies and parts as needed to prevent shortages.
  • Generate reports on material status, turnover rates and discrepancies to shop management.
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to understand their material needs and ensure timely availability of parts.
  • Identify opportunities for improving material processes and implementing best practices.
  • Conduct regular material audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Goods Receipts (GR) and other transactions in the SAP system as required.
  • Communicate with the procurement team regarding ongoing PRs, material receiving and supplier selection based on cost, material availability, quality and lead time.
  • Manage workshop stores, cabinets and storage areas to ensure that materials and consumables meet the supply plan for repairs.
  • Manage spare parts, jigs and fixtures for all GT components and machines.
  • Maintain records and costs of all consumables, spare parts, tools and materials for each project.
  • Ensure that store activities comply with MPW standards and QHSE requirements.
  • Work closely with the shop and QHSE teams to understand shop issues and implement cost-effective solutions that meet safety, cost, quality and delivery expectations.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills while effectively communicating with shop management.
  • Maintain a good understanding of QMS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Maintain records of all audit documents to provide evidence and support audit conclusions and recommendations.
  • Prepare and present clear and concise reports to the Factory Leader and Engineers summarizing materials consumed during each project.
  • Read and understand material specifications, drawings, data sheets and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Ensure the reliability and calibration of each equipment and tools in collaboration with the maintenance department and QHSE team.
  • Coordinate and follow up with the maintenance team regarding all workshop assets and equipment.
  • Report any maintenance issues with tools and equipment to the appropriate personnel.
  • Manage scrap parts and the disposal of materials in accordance with company requirements.
  • Comply with any designated tasks as required by factory management.
Additional Duties
  • Perform additional duties to support the business as needed.
Skills
  • Diploma in Technical College degree (Mechanical or similar discipline) or related field (preferred).
  • 3 years of related experience.
  • Understanding of Material Planning and Material Control.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Proven experience in material management, preferably in a repair shop or manufacturing environment.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS project)
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar material management software.
  • Effectiveness in prioritizing assigned duties and evaluating the work of personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding ability to interpret sketches, record, invoices and work orders to other personnel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and relevant ISO standards.
  • Forklift operation experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of health and safety issues, particularly related to workshop activities and chemical handling.
  • The position is based in a repair shop environment, requiring adherence to safety protocols and standards.
