Role Overview#

Our client is seeking a Master Data Governance Manager to take ownership of the governance frameworks that underpin the quality, integrity, and compliance of enterprise-wide master data. This role will lead efforts to define and enforce data standards, partner with cross-functional leaders, and ensure alignment with data regulations and organizational strategy. It’s a pivotal role for someone who can bridge policy, systems, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure data is reliable, well-managed, and regulatory-ready.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Oversight

• Shape and execute governance initiatives within the Master Data Management function, ensuring alignment with broader strategic and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor data governance KPIs and deliver performance insights to guide decision-making and continuous improvement.

Operational Execution

• Establish and enforce governance models, data ownership structures, and policy frameworks that ensure consistent and compliant master data handling.
• Collaborate with quality teams to integrate standards and controls, leveraging governance platforms to support data lifecycle integrity.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Manage daily activities of the governance team, ensuring effective execution of tasks in line with goals and policies.
• Drive professional development through coaching, structured feedback, and training plans aligned with evolving business and regulatory needs.

Process Optimisation & Policy Management

• Maintain and improve governance procedures and system controls to meet internal and external data standards.
• Identify opportunities for modernisation and process enhancements that drive governance maturity across the business.

Change Leadership

• Support the introduction of new tools, methods, and process updates aligned with international best practices and evolving regulatory trends.
• Lead or contribute to transformation initiatives that promote stronger data accountability and cross-functional coordination.

Reporting & Compliance

• Produce governance reports and dashboards to track adherence, highlight risk, and support executive-level insights.
• Ensure all practices meet data privacy, cybersecurity, and quality regulations, including relevant regional and industry-specific laws.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum of 9 years' experience in data management or IT, including at least 3 years in a leadership or governance-focused role.
• Proven experience implementing data governance strategies, policies, and systems within complex environments.
