Job Description

Our global project management consultancy client is seeking an experienced Marine Engineering Director to join their team in Tabuk, KSA. The successful candidate will have a proven background in leading and managing high-complexity marine projects from inception to completion.

The Marine Engineering Director will be responsible for the successful delivery of marine engineering from design through construction, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.

This role requires a strategic leader with operational excellence, capable of navigating a dynamic startup environment. The candidate should have at least 25 years of experience in delivering high-profile marine engineering projects and possess strong leadership and management skills.

This position is available for immediate joining and is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity with our client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the marine engineering strategy, design, and construction in support of project objectives regarding budget, schedule, quality, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with discipline teams and project management to support regional assets and oversee procurement and project management activities.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of marine engineering systems across the region.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marine engineering strategy aligned with overall project delivery plans.
  • Create detailed implementation plans considering project-specific requirements, timelines, and budgets.
  • Leverage industry networks to identify opportunities and evaluate new technologies suitable for project integration.
  • Establish strategic partnerships and foster innovation through collaboration with industry experts and research institutions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, mentorship, and operational excellence.
  • Analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions to ensure project success.
  • Define and monitor KPIs related to marine engineering performance, project timelines, costs, and environmental impact.
  • Regularly report progress to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stay informed on latest trends and advancements in marine engineering to guide decision-making.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Degree in Engineering; Master’s in Business or related field preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
  • Minimum of 25 years' experience in marine engineering projects, with significant experience in the Middle East.
  • Experience working with consultancies and clients.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a strategic mindset.
  • Experience with process mapping and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
