Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician to join our Fleet Services Group, working on ship repair, modernization, and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Shipboard experience with HM&E systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with shipboard electronic and electrical systems.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and installation drawings.
  • Experience with NAVSEA cableway and connectorization; certification is a plus.
  • Technical expertise with power and transmission equipment, and motorized valve actuators.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), fiber optics, and integrated network systems.

Qualifications:

  • High school, trade, or vocational school degree.
  • 5-10 years of ship repair and HM&E systems installation experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings and NAVSEA Standard Items.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET clearance.
  • Ability to lift and transport heavy equipment (at least 30 lbs).
  • Comfort working on ladders, in extreme temperatures, aboard ships, and in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to travel within and outside the continental US.

Certifications and Additional Skills:

  • Certified in 'Multi-pin' Connectors per MIL-STD-20035A (required).
  • Fiber Optic certifications (PLUS).
  • Minimum three years' marine electrician experience.
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items and wire way inspections.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Experience with wire pulling, splicing, circuit labeling, and troubleshooting.

Security and Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to export control regulations.
  • Travel up to 10%, domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary credentials for secure facilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and carry equipment weighing at least 30 lbs.
  • Work on ladders, in extreme temperatures, aboard ships, and in confined spaces.
