Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician to join our Fleet Services Group. The successful candidate will work on ship repair, modernization, and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Practical shipboard experience with HM&E systems and equipment.
  2. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with shipboard electronic and electrical systems and equipment.
  3. Interpret electrical schematics and installation drawings.
  4. Experience with NAVSEA cableway and connectorization; certification is a plus.
  5. Technical expertise in power and transmission equipment, and motorized valve actuators.
  6. Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), fiber optics, and integrated network systems.

Qualifications:

  1. High school, trade, or vocational school degree.
  2. 5-10 years of experience in ship repair and installation of HM&E systems and equipment.
  3. Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings and specifications, including NAVSEA Standard Items.
  4. Must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET clearance.
  5. Ability to obtain base access and security credentials.
  6. Physical ability to lift, carry, and transport equipment (at least 30 lbs).
  7. Ability to work in extreme temperatures, aboard ships, in shipyards, and confined spaces, including climbing ladders.
  8. Willingness to travel within and outside the continental US.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Certification in 'Multi-pin' Connectors IAW MIL-STD-20035A (SA) is mandatory.
  2. Fiber Optic certifications (CFOS/O, CFOS/C, CFOS/S, CFOS/T, CFOS/FC) are a plus.
  3. Minimum three years' experience as a marine electrician.
  4. Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items.
  5. Certification for wire way inspections per NAVSEA standards.
  6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is advantageous.
  7. Experience in pulling, splicing wires, circuit labeling, and troubleshooting.

Security and Travel Requirements:

  1. Must be eligible for and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  2. This role is open to U.S. citizens only due to export control regulations.
  3. Occasional travel up to 10% within the US and abroad.
  4. Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security credentials, such as REAL ID.

Physical and Work Environment:

  1. Ability to lift and transport heavy equipment (minimum 30 lbs).
  2. Work in extreme temperatures, aboard ships, shipyards, industrial conditions, and confined spaces.
