We are currently seeking a Stamping Manufacturing Engineer- Equipment. The Stamping Manufacturing Engineer will lead planning, installation, commissioning and execution of the Stamping equipment to ensure efficient and reliable production to deliver world class products on time, required quality and cost effectively. This specifically includes feasibility, production capacity planning, construction and supporting of Stamping Process.

He or she will lead cross-functional teams during the design, fabrication, installation and commissioning phases and drive sound business decisions throughout the project timeline cycle.

Job Duties

  1. Coordinate and effectively run meetings to resolve issues related to RFQ, feasibility, equipment design, fabrication, installation & commissioning and execution of stamping equipment.
  2. Lead technical design & review meetings for building required Stamping equipment.
  3. Coordinate all investment stages with suppliers, ME & Stamping Shop teams.
  4. Create and modify Microsoft Project schedules.
  5. Ensure the project team is prioritizing tasks and completing them to meet project milestones.
  6. Report project updates to executives.
  7. Understand product design changes and impacts to Stamping equipment.
  8. Mitigate risks and recognize optimization opportunities.
  9. Manage internal Lucid customers, assess needs regarding priorities, deadlines, and quantities, driving suppliers for on-time deliverables.
  10. Manage on-site installation & commissioning planning with equipment integrators.
  11. Track and manage equipment test runs for SOP.
  12. Generate RFQs for Stamping equipment and vet integrator proposals.
  13. Comply with all environmental safe practices and regulations.
  14. Develop and execute FAT/SAT requirements for pre-acceptance with integrators.
  15. Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production requirements and reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  16. Support vendor selection for all applicable equipment related to the manufacturing line.
  17. Manage multiple equipment investments and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
  18. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. A technical apprenticeship with 5+ years of experience.
  3. Experience in project management / stamping engineering in a high-volume stamping lines and greenfield stamping environment.
  4. Working knowledge of current manufacturing techniques in stamping manufacturing environment with extensive servo tandem press line, laser blanking line, crane, scrap conveyor equipment, tooling, metal stamping, assembly and testing.
  5. Deep knowledge and experience of mechanical, electrical and automation features for stamping equipment.
  6. Experience working with diverse global stamping equipment suppliers from different countries.
  7. Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
  8. Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  9. Effective skills in establishing and maintaining working relationships with a wide range of individuals from varying economic, social, and educational backgrounds in a die manufacturing environment.
  10. Strong mechanical, time management and analysis skills.
  11. Must be capable of working with peers, subordinates, supervisors, and management on a multidisciplinary team.
  12. Ability to remain current with state-of-the-art technologies and practices related to the metal stamping process as well as develop innovative solutions when necessary.
  13. Proficient with MS Office, MS Project, SAP, AutoCAD, and 3D design is a plus.
