Position Overview:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Managing Director to lead the overall direction and performance of the organization. This role is accountable for driving profitability, optimizing operations, fostering innovation, and steering the company toward sustainable growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commercial background, operational excellence, and the ability to inspire cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and implement the company’s long-term vision and strategic objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, identify opportunities and risks, and lead strategic planning.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business plans aligned with company goals.

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily operations across departments to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Optimize internal processes to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with leadership to monitor performance and ensure delivery on KPIs.

Financial Management

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to drive profitable growth.
  • Develop revenue-generating strategies and manage cost control initiatives.
  • Ensure financial health through risk management and internal controls.
  • Oversee fiscal compliance and audit preparedness.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including clients, suppliers, and partners.
  • Represent the company in public engagements, industry events, and regulatory meetings.

Corporate Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Promote transparency and accountability across the organization.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Establish contingency plans to respond to market or operational disruptions.

Market Expansion & Business Development

  • Explore new markets and opportunities for strategic expansion.
  • Lead key partnerships, distribution channels, and client acquisition efforts.
  • Strengthen the company’s market position and brand reputation.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor the executive team to ensure high performance and alignment.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative company culture.
  • Support leadership development and succession planning.

Innovation & Technology

  • Champion the use of technology to enhance efficiency and competitiveness.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation, experimentation, and forward thinking.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or in a senior executive leadership role within the food trading industry, preferably in the rice sector.
  • In-depth understanding of rice trading markets, supply chain operations, and global trade dynamics.
  • Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience in budget management, financial reporting, and risk mitigation.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and lead diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound, data-driven decisions in a dynamic and competitive market environment.
  • Track record of success in business development, market expansion, and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
