Job Description

Manager Technical accounting desk (Department of Professional Practice)

KPMG Saudi Levant Cluster is looking to hire a permanent employee (based in Riyadh/Khobar) to work with our technical accounting desk, handling complex accounting and reporting matters.

Skills/Experience requirements:
  • A qualified accountant (CA/ACCA /CPA)
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in accounting advisory and audits, preferably in a Big 4 environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting in accordance with IFRS/IFRS for SMEs and auditing in accordance with ISAs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including written and verbal English skills.
  • Prior experience working with technical desks is a plus.
Key responsibilities:
Informal queries/Walk-ins/Formal Consultations
  • Provide timely, considered, and technically appropriate responses to complex technical accounting and reporting issues.
  • Exercise professional skepticism.
  • Coach engagement teams and DPP team members on technical issues.
  • Share knowledge and key learnings with relevant DPP team members.
Pre-issuance reviews
  • Participate in pre-issuance reviews of financial statements each reporting period.
  • Provide timely feedback on review findings, ensuring direct communication with engagement teams about how findings were addressed.
  • Consult with engagement teams and within DPP on areas of uncertainty.
  • Share knowledge on common issues with the broader DPP.
Monitoring and Quality Initiatives
  • Identify areas of common technical deficiencies through interactions and address them.
  • Stay updated on latest technical developments and training needs.
  • Develop training materials or tools based on business needs, leveraging global resources where appropriate.
  • Participate in delivering or facilitating training and communication of tools.
  • Monitor local regulatory and professional developments and assess their impact on audits and financial statements.
DPP Bulletin, alerts, publications
  • Contribute to local DPP Bulletins, alerts, FAQs by suggesting or drafting articles on technical topics.
  • Stay informed on local and international DPP articles and promote relevant content to engagement teams.
