Job description

As a manager, you'll oversee the delivery of audit engagements by defining the audit strategy in consultation with the Senior Manager / Partner and executing it in compliance with Ernst & Young's policies and protocols. You will personally execute complex audit procedures and lead teams or parts of teams on engagements, depending on the size of the engagement. Additionally, you'll assist in managing the financial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking fees, and communicating issues to project leaders. You will also participate in business development initiatives.

You'll actively establish, maintain, and strengthen internal and external relationships, ensuring that work delivered to clients is of high quality. You'll anticipate and identify risks, escalate issues as appropriate, and help create a positive learning culture. Coaching and mentoring junior team members, contributing to people initiatives including recruiting, retention, and training, and maintaining an educational program for staff development are also key responsibilities.

Skills and attributes for success

Effective management of competing priorities, resource management, and communication skills are essential. These skills will significantly impact your team and promote a positive work ethic.

We seek someone with a solid understanding of current IFRS standards, experience with audit tools and data analytics, and a risk-based audit process background. Expertise in current auditing techniques and team management experience is also required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least seven years of professional experience in external audit
  • A strong academic record, including a degree and an accounting qualification such as ACCA or CPA

Ideally, you will also

  • Have experience working with a Big 4 accounting firm
