Job description

The Manager, Operational Capability and Training, will support the Regional Manager, BEM to design and implement training priorities in line with regional forest, fire and emergency management capability requirements.

The Manager will lead a team to develop, design and implement training strategies that align to Standard of Cover requirements, succession planning, Emergency Role Development plans and technical training requirements, to maintain appropriate EM and operational capability in the short, medium and long term.

The Manager, Capability and Training will play a key role in ensuring equitable access to training opportunities and progress towards greater gender diversity in senior IMT and operational roles, as well as ensuring that robust assessment processes are established to ensure validity of training delivered.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • TAE40122 Cert IV Training and Assessment (or equivalent), or evidence of progress towards qualification (desirable).
  • Accreditation in or substantial progress towards a senior IMT role under the AIIMs structure.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within the Gippsland Region with hybrid work arrangements available.
