Job Purpose: The Esports Worldcup Foundation is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Marketing Manager - Growth Markets to lead strategic marketing efforts in emerging esports regions, with a primary focus on China. This individual will play a critical role in identifying new opportunities for growth, developing data-driven strategies, and executing marketing plans in collaboration with agencies and partners. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the esports ecosystem in Asia, particularly in China, and possess a proven ability to navigate complex multicultural environments.
Duties and Responsibilities
Market Blueprint Development
- Design a comprehensive blueprint for identifying and prioritizing growth markets within the esports industry.
- Develop and implement KPIs and frameworks to assess market potential and measure success.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, audience behaviors, and competitive landscapes.
- Build tailored marketing strategies and plans for identified growth markets, focusing initially on China.
- Leverage local insights to ensure plans resonate with target audiences.
- Identify key partnerships and sponsorship opportunities to amplify the brand presence in growth markets.
Implementation & Execution
- Work closely with local agencies, influencers, and stakeholders to execute the marketing strategy effectively.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align marketing efforts with global brand objectives.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables for regional campaigns.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for marketing efforts in Asia, fostering strong relationships with local partners.
- Provide cultural insights and recommendations to the broader marketing and creative teams.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing activities, using data to refine strategies and achieve KPIs.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on the progress and impact of initiatives.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, media or equivalent.
5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably within esports, gaming, or entertainment industries.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Deep understanding of the Chinese market, including audience preferences, digital platforms, and cultural nuances.
- Native-like Chinese (e.g. Mandarin) speaker with fluency in English (written and verbal).
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies in Asia.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Experience working with agencies and partners across different regions.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Passion for esports and gaming is a strong plus.
