Manager Infrastructure & Network

Job Purpose

To plan and manage the day to day operations of the IT Infrastructure & Network team to ensure proper implementation of robust and scalable systems that meet Saudia Cargo business requirements as per the set IT policies, procedures and service level agreements (SLAs).

Key Accountabilities

Budgets and Financial Plans

• Monitor the financial performance of activities within the Infrastructure & Network versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.

IT Infrastructure Planning & Design Management

• Develop and maintain an IT Infrastructure Road Map to focus on enhancing the availability, reliability, scalability and manageability of resources in line with approved IT Architecture.
• Evaluate and select solutions to satisfy the objectives of the IT Infrastructure Road Map.
• Lead and guide the analysis of IT infrastructure planning activities / initiatives in order to understand the current capabilities and limitations of the supporting IT infrastructure, while providing recommendations to build and maintain a scalable and agile IT infrastructure meeting Saudia Cargo operational and capacity requirements.
• Lead the design and coordination of operations of all related IT infrastructure aspects (hardware, network, server, storage, telephony, and database management) in order to facilitate achievement of Saudia Cargo operations.
• Manage and guide the provision of support to Infrastructure Support Management in order to understand and verify root causes of issues related to infrastructure design.
• Lead and guide the effective coordination with other IT domains in order to cater to all their IT Infrastructure requirements.
• Lead the monitoring of infrastructure performance and availability in coordination with IT performance management while proactively identifying areas of improvement and recommending solutions.
• Ensure that required training and documentation is provided for the support staff on received updates and fixes for infrastructure to facilitate effective system administration.
• Ensure that the life-cycle management of IT infrastructure related hardware and software is performed to guarantee ongoing vendor support.

Network Management

• Appraise network deployment, maintenance and monitoring across the organisation.
• Support development of network technology roadmap across the organisation.
• Coordinate drafting of proposal for centralisation of network monitoring.
• Provide guidance on network deployment planning and third party support for new operations.
• Ensure provision of requisite training and adequate support to users for further effectiveness.

Vendor Management

• Meet, negotiate with and recommend appropriate vendors to install appropriate hardware and networking systems that support the Company’s objectives.
• Negotiate with vendors for effective maintenance and support contracts to obtain timely service on installed systems.

Typical Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Equivalent
• 6 - 8 years of experience
