Job Summary
We are seeking a capable and experienced Maintenance Supervisor – Fleet Operations to take full responsibility for the condition, performance, and daily operation of our truck fleet. This role combines technical maintenance oversight with operational responsibilities such as driver coordination, fuel monitoring, and fleet efficiency management. The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical background, leadership abilities, and hands-on experience managing fleet and drivers within a logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Maintenance & Technical Oversight
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all preventive and corrective maintenance activities for trucks and heavy vehicles.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and meet safety standards.
- Manage relationships with workshops, spare parts suppliers, and service providers.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, service schedules, parts replacements, and costs.
Driver Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise daily driver operations, including duty assignments, route schedules, and vehicle handovers.
- Ensure driver compliance with safety, maintenance, and operational policies.
- Monitor driver behavior and performance; take corrective action where necessary.
- Conduct toolbox talks and basic training sessions on vehicle handling and fuel-saving practices.
Fuel Management
- Track and analyze daily/weekly/monthly fuel consumption across the fleet.
- Identify irregularities or fuel inefficiencies and investigate root causes.
- Implement best practices to reduce fuel consumption and improve cost control.
Fleet & Operational Reporting
- Monitor fleet utilization, downtime, maintenance costs, and availability.
- Prepare regular reports for management on fleet condition, expenses, driver performance, and KPIs.
- Recommend improvements in fleet operations, route efficiency, and maintenance planning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in fleet maintenance, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, trucks, trailers, and workshop procedures.
- Experience in driver supervision and managing fuel usage is required.
- Familiarity with CMMS or fleet management software is a strong advantage.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Good command of English; Arabic is a plus.
- Valid Saudi driving license (heavy vehicle license preferred).
