Job description

Job Summary:

The Primary role will be to plan, estimate and schedule maintenance work. Utilize a corporate maintenance computer programs and databases such as SAP to provide information in a timely efficient manner, coordinate stepped work within the same organization and analyse and prepare report daily/weekly schedules.

A maintenance planner is responsible for making sure maintenance team has the tools and parts they need to complete work orders in a timer manner to avoid equipment downtime.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and managing detailed maintenance schedules and work orders
  2. Coordinating and scheduling all maintenance activities
  3. Ensuring that all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and industry standards
  4. Maintaining accurate records of maintenance performed, equipment condition, and maintenance costs
  5. Working with engineering and operations teams to plan and implement equipment modifications and upgrades
  6. Procuring necessary maintenance supplies and equipment
  7. Working with vendors and contractors as needed
  8. Participating in the development and implementation of maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices
  9. Maintain the record for spare parts through SAP system
  10. Maintain/implement discipline among planning staff.
  11. Process work orders. Visits job site when necessary. Utilizes knowledge of craft skills and knowledge of the equipment involved, and places job steps in the proper sequence.
  12. Identify all materials, tools, equipment, and special preparations required for each job step.
  13. Provide the foremen with a completed package at minimum cost.
  14. Ensures that materials are received prior to scheduling the job.
  15. Ensures that surplus and excess materials are returned to the proper materials handling personnel for eventual return to warehouse.
  16. Arrange for and schedules support service equipment, to coincide with the maintenance order scheduling.
  17. Provides maintenance performance monitoring data for his assigned area or unit.
  18. Prepares Job Cards and reviews the log of existing Job Cards for potential application.
  19. Participate in the Weekly/Schedule Coordination Meeting and presents the Weekly Schedule of workable maintenance jobs from the backlog.
  20. Ensures which jobs will be worked in the upcoming week.
  21. Prepare daily schedules from the approved Weekly Schedule.
  22. Coordinates daily schedules with Maintenance Foremen, Supervisor and Operations Foremen and ensures that a complete planning package is attached to the work order.
  23. Checks, received materials and issue to craftsmen.
  24. Request crane/trailer and ensures contracts readiness or other resources required on the daily scheduled jobs.
  25. Lists, edits and checks all issued maintenance tickets and plans/schedules work.
  26. Plan major jobs with the assistance of senior planners and develop critical path charts if required.
  27. Updates maintenance order statuses. Generates Plant Maintenance reports.
  28. Provides maintenance performance monitoring data for his assigned area.
  29. Other Duties as assigned by Planning Head

Professional Qualification:

Education: Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Refinery as Maintenance Planner.
