Job Description
Job Scope
Take a part in Jeddah Geochemistry lab start-up preparation including coordinate and assist with equipment / instrument safe installation and test run. Create and maintain equipment / spare parts registry system. Be primarily responsible for lab and building infrastructural equipment operational consistently. Train operators safe use and perform routine maintenance of equipment. Job scope on this position will be reviewed and revised when lab passes start-up phase.
Job Responsibilities
- Receive, store and track equipment / instrument and spare parts from both local and oversea suppliers during lab construction, fit out and start-up stages
- Assist with on-going lab building construction in respect of equipment / instrument layout following lab design Plan (focus on lab and building infrastructural equipment)
- Assist with equipment / instrument installations, conduct test runs, and accept job completions (focus on lab and building infrastructure equipment)
- Project manage in-house customized lab item making, alteration and modification
- Create and maintain equipment inventory tracking and ordering system
- Identify preventive maintenance needs and create maintenance system
- Timely repair or coordinate external parties to repair failed equipment / instrument to minimize downtime
- Train and supervise maintenance crew to perform routine repair and maintenance tasks
Qualifications
Required Experience, Education & Certifications
- Minimum 5 years laboratory or mechanical / Trades workshop working experiences
- Electrician certification or other Trades certificate required (electrician preferred)
- Forklift driver’s license required
- Post secondary mechanical engineering or related major preferred
- First Aid certificate preferred
Required Skills (Technical & Soft Skills)
- Adequate oral and written English
- Adequate report writing skill
- Basic MS Word, Excel and e-mail communication skills
- Craftsmanship demonstrated
