As a Machinist, you will perform functions to set up and operate various types of conventional and CNC machines, as well as carry out production machining operations specified by the Manufacturing Order Package.
Responsibilities include:
- Working within close tolerances to perform adjustments and measurements, ensuring proper alignment of machines and parts.
- Assisting the Support Team in tool performance evaluation and testing new programs and cutting tools.
- Conducting machine tool preventive maintenance and implementing good 5S auditing practices.
- Applying CMM tools to inspect parts for conformity, recording critical dimensions, and performing machining mapping.
- Assisting the fixture team in fixture performance and rigidity evaluations, and testing new fixture designs and clamping methods.
- Implementing new machining technologies to reduce costs and participating in continuous improvement projects and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications for success
- 0-2 years of experience in milling or turning machining industries.
- Secondary Education, ITE, or Diploma in Metal Machining or related field.
- Thorough knowledge of machining critical components, API standards, VGS procedures, fixtures, and tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, VGS procedures, and Manufacturing Orders when necessary.
- Good interpersonal skills, computer literacy, and team player attitude.
- Ability to read and understand English.
