Job Purpose

The Logistics and Training Manager is responsible for providing robust, timely and accurate advice to the LWC on all aspects of Supply management, Munitions management and Training. Develop solutions and offer advice to the LWC on a daily bases covering all aspects of supply, Munitions management and Training.

Responsibilities

  • The Logistics and Training Manager will, on a daily basis, be required to provide advice and practical assistance to the Logistics wing commander and his deputies.
  • The Logistics and Training Manager will also provide and assistance to individual sections within Supply, Munitions and Training.
  • Interact with the RSAF and all customers and supply Chain Partners.
  • Using his experience and knowledge the Logistics and Training Manager will be required to advise on subjects including, but not limited to,
  • Provisioning and order book management
  • Forecasting and supply arising rate management
  • Obsolescence mitigation due to diminishing sources of supply.
  • RSAF procedures for storage of items of munitions.
  • RSAF procedures for licensing of munitions storage buildings, aircraft AGFs & shelters
  • RSAF procedures for Transportation of munitions.
  • Maintenance and supply training processes and procedures.
  • Future SN capability improvements.
  • Represent RSAF, and support RSAF KAAB Logistics in review meetings, both internal and external.
  • Provide professional advice to the Logistic Wing Commander on Munition, Supply and Training best practices
  • Analyse and communicate concerns on identified supply chain, Munition and Training issues.
  • Provide advice on identified generic SHE implications related to any tasks as directed by the Logistics Wing Commander.
  • Experience of Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
  • Analyse and communicate concerns on identified Supply Chain issues that are likely to impact at any level.
  • Monitor the fleet MICAP status and provide supporting date.
  • Maintain a presence on the workability forum and provide summary briefings to highlight positive and negative trends.
  • Be seen as a reliable source of current information, within the Logistics Wing, for Supply, Munitions and Training topics

Essential

Job Requirements:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in an Aircraft Maintenance discipline i.e. (Successful completion of a National civilian / military equivalent recognised aircraft maintenance traineeship / apprenticeship) OR EASA Category B or C Licenced Engineer, with military add on training applicable to trade (Or a military equivalent)
  • Have 10 year’s aircraft maintenance experience supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training
  • Have at least 5 year’s Aircraft Maintenance Training.
  • Have at least 7 years’ experience in a relevant management role.
  • Demonstrable leadership and management skills.
  • Proven business acumen for objective decision-making regarding resources, risk management, and engineering forward strategy
  • Proven ability for objective decision making regards resources, risk management and engineering forward strategy
  • Good working knowledge of aircraft maintenance, aircraft maintenance training, associated authorisations and operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of Human Factors and Error Management.
  • A demonstrable understanding of competency frameworks.
  • A demonstrable record of aircraft maintenance training practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly establish personal and professional credibility with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, 9110 Standards.
  • The candidate should be selected from applications made by former senior RSAF Officers.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficient in management of multiple simultaneous programmes with well-developed ability in tracking and maintaining schedules.
  • Proficient in prioritizing projects and programmes to meet changing customer requirements.
  • Proficient in understanding of platform/munitions life cycle.
  • Proficient in the concept of availability, reliability and maintainability
  • Will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the RSAF technical procedures, forms and directives that make up the RSAF regulatory Framework.
  • Proficient in the use of the full suite of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Should have the ability to communicate effectively, using good oral and written expression with his colleagues and with higher RSAF, MODSAP and BAE Systems representatives.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a firm grasp of the RSAF Command Structure.
  • Direct managerial experience for personnel and proven leadership and people development skills.
  • The candidate will be a former serving RSAF Senior Officer to effectively maintain Saudisation levels

Desirable

  • Ideally will have attended and successfully completed RSAF officer staff training
  • Familiar with the types of munitions and missiles in the RSAF inventory.
  • Procurement experience, budget control and long term provisioning.
  • Training management Systems experience, particularly OJT.
