Reports To: Transport Manager / Project Manager

Job Overview:

The Site Coordinator – Transport Department is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all transportation activities on-site to ensure smooth operations. This role involves managing vehicle logistics, supervising drivers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining efficiency in material and equipment transportation for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:1. Transport Operations Management

  • Coordinate the daily scheduling and dispatch of construction vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to and from the construction site.
  • Monitor vehicle movements and optimize routes for efficiency.
  • Maintain records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and trip logs.

2. Driver and Vehicle Management

  • Supervise and communicate with drivers to ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Conduct briefings with drivers regarding daily assignments and safety protocols.
  • Monitor driver performance and adherence to company policies.
  • Ensure all vehicles and machinery are in proper working condition before deployment.

3. Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure that all vehicles meet safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections and coordinate maintenance of fleet vehicles.
  • Enforce compliance with transportation safety standards and company policies.
  • Assist in investigating and reporting accidents or transport-related incidents.

4. Coordination with Other Departments

  • Liaise with project managers, procurement teams, and site engineers to understand transport needs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for material transportation.
  • Provide updates on transportation schedules and any delays.

5. Administrative and Reporting Duties

  • Maintain detailed records of transport activities, vehicle maintenance, and driver logs.
  • Prepare reports on fuel usage, vehicle efficiency, and transport costs.
  • Assist in budget planning for transportation needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
