The opportunity
To build and grow the responsibility for local product management activities. Acts as a bridge from local to global product management. Provides local market needs to global teams, conducts customer presentations on our factory and new product developments. Leads product qualifications in communication with the global qualification manager. Collects feedback on product quality in the market and triggers improvements. Leads cost-out activities (DtV) with the global DtV organization and local SCM. Manages factory loading data and feeds this to feeder factories and suppliers as a budget input. The local product manager participates in market activities and tendering, acting as a technical expert.
How you’ll make an impact
- The Head of Product Management (HPM) will be part of the global product management team of GIS and will manage a team of technical experts including Technical Manager, Product Specialist, Product Cost Specialist & Local Implementation Manager.
- You will receive updates on new developments and initiate R&D activities based on PCR requests from a Saudi perspective, representing Dammam factory in R&D meetings supporting the GM if absent.
- HPM will monitor CCRPs on GIS products and trigger activities in production or R&D as needed, overseeing the implementation of Product Change Notifications from Global R&D to the local organization.
- You will direct the Product Specialist on the product lifecycle evolution of HV Switchgear, support local DtV activities, consolidate Type Test Reports (TTR), develop method statements for customers, and coordinate Type test programs.
- You will direct the Product Cost Specialist in cost tracking, validate cost analysis results, and support cost optimization programs.
- HPM leads local DtV activities, acts as the liaison with global DtV, and participates in pre-qualifications and sales & operation planning meetings for factory loading forecasts.
- You will provide technical advice during customer discussions and support SCM in pre-qualifying new local suppliers.
- HPM will conduct presentations and training for internal and external audiences, sharing knowledge about GIS products and identifying market expansion opportunities.

Your background
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in electrical engineering; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with a strong technical background in GIS.
- Negotiation and task management skills.
- Self-driven with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of HV product portfolio, Microsoft Office, SAP.
- Proficiency in spoken & written English.
