Job summary

DXC Technology in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer to architect and lead operations infrastructure services across physical, virtual, and hybrid platforms. You will manage Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE) and AIX on pSeries, driving lifecycle, performance tuning, and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent education/experience.
• 6+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years in a similar Linux/AIX role.
• Experience in infrastructure technology analysis and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Architect and manage Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE) for critical infrastructure.
• Design and manage AIX server in pSeries architecture (LPARs, VIO, PowerVM).
• Automate OS deployments, patching, and configuration (Ansible, SaltStack).
• Integrate Unix systems with security controls and monitoring for CIS compliance.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks and provide root-cause fixes for Linux/AIX.
• Collaborate on DR readiness and high-availability testing.

Job Description: In this Job Family, Responsible for architecting and leading operations infrastructure services. Individuals in these positions possess the capability to manage various versions of Linux, AIX, and Container Platforms. The Linux Engineer is tasked with leading administration, and support of mission-critical Linux environments hosted on physical, virtual, and hybrid platforms. This role encompasses lifecycle management, performance tuning, and automation of operating system-related processes to ensure stability and high availability. Key focus areas include automation, security measures, and continuous system optimization.

Responsibilities

• Architect and manage Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE) for critical infrastructure.
• Design and manage AIX server in pSeries architecture, including LPARs, VIO servers, and PowerVM environments.
• Automate OS deployments, patching, and configuration using Ansible and SaltStack.
• Integrate Unix systems with security controls and monitoring tools to ensure system compliance to Security standard.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks and provide permanent fixes via root cause analysis of Linux/AIX systems.
• Collaborate on DR readiness and participate in high-availability testing.
• Provide technical support in infrastructure services, responding to issues and assisting in tasks.
• Contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects and assignments.
• Support the development of infrastructure documentation, including incident logs and configuration records.
• Apply technical knowledge to address Linux/AIX infrastructure-related challenges.
• Follow established best practices and standards in infrastructure service delivery.
• Utilize technical skills to address infrastructure issues and incidents.

Required Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Linux OS internals and kernel tuning.
• Expertise in AIX OS, PowerHA, PowerVM, NIM, and VIO servers.
• Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware) and hybrid infrastructure.
• Awareness of CIS hardening, log forwarding, and SIEM integration.
• Proficient in security compliance standards and OS-level auditing.
• Experience with Ansible, Puppet or similar automation tools.
• Experience in setting up Linux Centralized management tool (RedHat Satellite/SUSE Manager) and patch management.
• Good knowledge of hybrid IT environments.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
• Proven experience in infrastructure technology analysis.
• Proficiencies in data analysis and technical knowledge.
• A continuous learner that stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology.
