Overview

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Lifting Operations Engineer in Riyadh, KSA.

To ensure the safe planning, execution, and oversight of all lifting operations on site, in compliance with project-specific HSE requirements, local regulations, and international standards (e.g., LOLER, BS 7121).

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Coordination:

  • Develop and review lifting plans and method statements (RAMS).
  • Coordinate with contractors, crane operators, riggers, and site supervisors to ensure safe lifting operations.
  • Participate in pre-lift meetings and risk assessments.

Compliance & Oversight:

  • Ensure all lifting activities comply with relevant safety standards and project specifications.
  • Verify that lifting equipment is certified, inspected, and fit for use.
  • Monitor lifting operations and intervene when unsafe practices are observed.

Documentation & Approval:

  • Approve lifting plans and associated documentation before work commencement.
  • Maintain records of lifting operations, inspections, and incidents.

Training & Communication:

  • Provide guidance and training to site teams on lifting safety.
  • Act as the primary HSE point of contact for lifting-related activities.

Incident Management:

  • Support investigations of lifting-related incidents and near misses.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key skills
  • Strong understanding of lifting equipment, rigging techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and lifting plans.
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant planning software.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Certified Appointed Person for Lifting Operations (e.g., CPCS A61, LEEA or equivalent).
  • Valid HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in lifting operations within construction or industrial projects.
  • Proven track record of managing complex and high-risk lifting activities.
