Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented Lead Quantity Surveyor to join our award-winning team based in Saudi Arabia.

This role involves implementing cost controls and financial procedures as outlined in construction contracts. Responsibilities include measuring and assessing client variations, evaluating contractor’s monthly interim payments, and identifying potential impacts on the project budget.

Success in this role includes:

  1. Communicating project status and progress with the Project Director and managing projects per KEO policies.
  2. Reviewing and approving interim payments, project variations, and financial matters.
  3. Maintaining communication with project teams, contractors, and client representatives.
  4. Overseeing financial and contractual aspects, ensuring contract terms are followed, and managing supplemental agreements.
  5. Supporting senior management on financial and contractual issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Leading commercial meetings and preparing minutes.
  7. Ensuring cost controls and financial procedures are implemented as per contracts.
  8. Building client relationships and exceeding expectations.
  9. Evaluating and preparing variation orders and claims.
  10. Negotiating settlements of variations and claims.
  11. Addressing performance issues with the Project Director.
  12. Maintaining accurate cost and quantity records.
  13. Preparing progress valuations and assessing costs of design changes.
  14. Reviewing contractor claims, including time extensions and delays.
  15. Preparing change orders and reports on cost impacts.
  16. Drafting contractual correspondence and certificates.
  17. Preparing project cost and cash flow reports.
  18. Participating in cost and contractual review meetings.
  19. Providing input for monthly reports and general commercial support.
  20. Ensuring contractual requirements are met.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have approximately 20 years of work experience, including 5 years managing large-scale mixed-use developments with multiple stakeholders and contracts. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field is required, along with certifications in contract management, cost, and claims. Full MRICS accreditation is preferred.
