JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for leading and coordinating key sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy. focuses on Vendor Risk Management (VRM), greening initiatives, solid waste management, and broader ESG projects, supporting the organization in achieving sustainability goals, regulatory compliance, and industry leadership in responsible business practices. Acts as a bridge between corporate strategy and ESG execution, ensuring project governance, KPI tracking, and cross-functional collaboration for the successful implementation of sustainability initiatives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Strategic Contribution
- Support the implementation of the annual business plan and targets and implement the strategic agenda of the PMO ESG Strategy department to deliver NADEC vision and mission.
- Ensure that the strategy is translated into operational business plans for the PMO ESG Strategy department and monitor the performance and execution of those plans to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company's strategy.
Leadership
- Build and lead a motivated, engaged and competent team, by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.
- Serve as a role model to ensure employees awareness and commitment to NADEC vision, mission, values, and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated team, and continuously improve performance.
Budgeting
- Lead the preparation of the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
Core Accountabilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and governance of ESG projects, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability strategy.
- Develop project charters, milestones, and risk management plans to drive efficiency and impact.
- Monitor progress, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for ESG initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to sustainability commitments, reporting frameworks, and business objectives.
- Establish and implement ESG governance structures to standardize project execution.
- Ensure compliance with ESG reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP) and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare regular ESG reports, dashboards, and executive presentations on sustainability performance.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for sustainability-related risks.
- Implement and oversee Vendor Risk Management (VRM) strategies to ensure suppliers align with ESG standards.
- Develop sustainability assessment frameworks for vendors, focusing on ethical sourcing, carbon footprint, and labor compliance.
- Work with procurement teams to enhance supplier engagement and sustainable sourcing policies.
- Drive company-wide climate adaptation strategies to minimize environmental impact.
- Collaborate with facilities and operations teams to integrate sustainable practices into business operations.
- Develop strategies for sustainable packaging, waste recovery, and disposal optimization.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote responsible waste management.
- Work closely with internal teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing, HR, and Legal) to embed sustainability in core business functions.
- Foster external partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and industry groups to advance ESG goals.
- Lead ESG awareness campaigns, training, and workshops to strengthen sustainability culture within the organization.
Policies, System, Processes and Procedures
- Manage the development and implementation of the Engineering policies, systems, processes and procedures, identifying potential areas for improvement, to ensure efficient and effective operation.
- Ensure compliance with corporate requirements on adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to all relevant regulatory directives to ensure a safe and risk-free environment.
Change Management
- Motivate the employees and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering best practices.
- Ensure that all departmental reports and statements are completed timely and comply with local and international principles of governance and the organization's policies and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A master's degree or professional certification in ESG, Project Management (PMP), or Sustainability Leadership is preferred.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in ESG project management, sustainability governance, or environmental compliance within the FMCG or manufacturing sector.
