Job description

Title:

Lead Piping Design Engineer

Overall Summary

Lead Piping Engineer with proven extensive experience in the design of Process and Utilities piping, mainly for critical plant equipment and piping systems in the Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery, onshore, and/or infrastructure industries. Responsible for effectively leading a large team of piping engineers and designers, with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in FEED and detailed engineering of medium to large-scale projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of more than 25 piping engineers and designers
  • Review and approve discipline work plans
  • Review and approve basis of design
  • Review and approve work-hours estimates
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team, including clients
  • Lead technical reviews of plot plans and equipment layouts
  • Lead technical presentations to clients and their representatives
  • Ensure design integrity of piping scope, oversee performance of staff, and ensure on-schedule and within-budget delivery of work
Key Interactions:
  • Coordinate with other discipline activities
  • Interact with Project Management
  • Engage with client representatives
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 15 years of experience in conceptual design, FEED, and detailed engineering of plants and facilities in the Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery, offshore, and infrastructure industries.

Key Skills & Technical Competencies:
  • Expert knowledge of design practices, construction practices, and procedures
  • Expert knowledge of codes and industry standards such as ASME, NFPA, and API
  • Proficiency in plot plan and equipment layout, piping layout, stress analysis, material selection, and process equipment fire water protection and drain systems philosophy
  • Extensive knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards and procedures (an advantage)
  • Proficient in English, both oral and written
