Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Lead Network Architect to oversee the supervision, design, and implementation of the digital network infrastructure for a large-scale smart city project. This role is critical to ensuring the delivery of a secure, scalable, and highly resilient network foundation that supports all Smart City, Security, and ICT services. The Senior Network Architect will lead the detailed design and implementation of both the City Services Network (CN) and the physically separate Physical Safety and Security Network (PSSN). The ideal candidate will validate network configurations, data center connectivity, and the integration of mobile and wireless systems, ensuring robust performance and adherence to the highest industry standards.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supervise the design, implementation, and operation of the project’s entire digital network infrastructure, ensuring it meets the highest standards of security, scalability, and resilience.

  • Oversee the detailed design and deployment of the City Services Network (CN) and the Physical Safety and Security Network (PSSN), ensuring physical separation and robust performance.

  • Validate all network configurations, including data center connectivity and the integration of mobile and wireless systems, to ensure adherence to industry best practices.

  • Ensure the delivery of a redundant and resilient network topology, including diverse fiber routing and active-active equipment configurations.

  • Collaborate with systems integrators and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of multi-vendor network infrastructures.

  • Provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of enterprise-grade routing, switching, and firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba).

  • Oversee the deployment of large-scale public Wi-Fi systems and ensure compliance with structured cabling standards (e.g., ANSI/TIA-942, BICSI).

  • Design and implement network security measures, including physically segregated networks for critical systems such as the PSSN.

  • Troubleshoot high-level connectivity issues and review complex network designs to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Act as a consultant or client-side supervisor, overseeing the work of major systems integrators and ensuring alignment with project goals.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Mandatory membership with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).

  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in network engineering and architecture, with significant expertise in large-scale campus, smart city, or mega-project environments.

  • Proven track record in designing and implementing complex, multi-vendor network infrastructures in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.

  • Strong background in creating resilient and redundant network topologies, including diverse fiber routing and active-active equipment configurations.

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade routing, switching, and firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba).

  • Extensive experience with large-scale public Wi-Fi deployments and data center networking principles, including structured cabling standards (e.g., ANSI/TIA-942, BICSI).

  • Expertise in network security design, including the implementation of physically segregated networks for critical systems like the PSSN.

  • Experience in a consultancy or client-side supervision role, overseeing the work of major systems integrators.

  • Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE) are required.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Security certifications such as CISSP and design certifications like RCDD are highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with Saudi-specific regulations and standards for network design and security.

  • Experience working on mega-projects or smart city initiatives in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
