A leading company in the power systems sector is seeking a Lead Construction Engineer to oversee and manage construction activities in the offshore oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will possess substantial structural engineering skills, a recognized engineering degree, and proven experience in managing complex projects. Responsibilities include providing structural expertise, reviewing engineering designs, and ensuring compliance with project timelines and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in construction engineering.
• Experience in Power Plants, Substations, or Synchronous Converters is a plus.

Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Lead construction engineers must be comfortable communicating design ideas because they will be working with other professionals including construction workers and architects

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide structural expertise for design, detailing, construction, load out, transportation and Installation of heavy offshore oil and gas and building sector
• Drive construction schedule and ensure subcontractor work scopes
• Coordinate daily job-site
• Preparing and reviewing structural engineering design, studies, drawings and documents
• Review designs in terms of constructability and load out considering allocated facility
• Full structural calculation for different load cases. Static and dynamic analysis
• Connection design (shop and Field)
• Act as technical authority and represent the company
• Support bidding process
• Technical review of engineering consultant output where the work is subcontracted
• Participate in design reviews and take necessary follow up actions
• Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the engineering department/ section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures

Qualification:

• Recognized Degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University or a professional license in an Engineering discipline.
• + 8 years of work experience in the related field
• Experience in Power Plants or Substations or synchronous Condenser is plus.
