A leading company seeks a skilled Lathe Machine Operator to manage conventional lathe operations for heavy components. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience and an ITI or diploma in Mechanical Engineering. This role offers a dynamic work environment with a focus on precision and quality.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lathe Machine Operator proficient in operating conventional lathe machines, including handling components up to 30 tons. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in machining, turning, threading, and boring for various types of equipment. Prior experience in heavy industries such as fabrication, manufacturing, or power generation is preferred.
Operate conventional lathe machines to perform turning, facing, drilling, boring, threading, and grooving operations.
Handle large workpieces and components with weight capacities up to 30 tons.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job instructions accurately.
Set up machines, align and secure workpieces, and select appropriate tools and speeds.
Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy and make adjustments as necessary.
Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Maintain proper documentation of job sheets, dimensions, and machine logs.
Conduct routine maintenance and ensure cleanliness and safety of the machine and work area.
Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to optimize machining processes.
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant trade certification.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in conventional lathe operations, preferably in a heavy industry environment.
Strong knowledge of lathe machine operation and machining techniques.
Ability to work with heavy-duty materials and large components.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with safety protocols and machine maintenance practices.
