Job description

Perform routine clinical laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, immunology, and coagulation. The candidate will have basic laboratory skills required for entry-level positions in these fields and emerging areas such as molecular diagnostics. Responsibilities also include information processing, training, and quality control within the laboratory.

Accountabilities

  1. Receive blood and body fluid samples at lab reception and initiate pre-analytical processing.
  2. Conduct daily equipment checks to ensure safety and proper functioning.
  3. Perform analytical procedures on hematology, biochemistry, serology, and hormone laboratory machines.
  4. Conduct daily quality control tests on reagents.
  5. Analyze blood cells through counting and identification using microscopy.
  6. Prepare and examine urine and stool samples microscopically.
  7. Manage laboratory supplies inventory, check stock levels, anticipate needs, and place orders.
  8. Use equipment and supplies efficiently to conserve resources.
  9. Notify medical staff of critical test results.
  10. Compile and analyze data to prepare reports of findings.
  11. Maintain professional knowledge through workshops and publications.
  12. Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
  13. Adhere to infection control and hazardous waste policies to protect patients and staff.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Additional Details

  • Working Days: 6 days/week
  • Days Off: 1 day/week
  • Working Hours: 8 hours/day per shift schedule approved by department head
