Position Overview:

The Lab GM has the overall responsibility for the operation of the Lab and its performance.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Participates in forming the annual operational budget for the Lab for approval from higher management.
• Oversees the execution of the approved annual budget and the achievement of budget targets.
• Oversees daily operations and works towards increasing efficiency and quality.
• Expands the Lab's customer base and builds its reputation.
• Strives to attract and retain high-caliber customers and high-value contracts.
• Works in close cooperation with the QA/QC manager to maintain and improve high-quality standards.
• Works on expanding the Lab's scope of work and oversees the accreditation of the scope expansion.
• Maintains a strict credit policy and follows up on the collection of outstanding amounts.
• Undersigns all geotechnical test reports and assumes responsibility for their content.
• Evaluates the performance of Lab employees and helps increase their performance.
• Ensures the impartiality of the Lab and all its employees, and the confidentiality of all test results.
• Approves all sales quotations, signs sales agreements, and approves purchases.
• Reviews work processes and recommends adjustments to improve efficiency and quality.
• Keeps up to date with all existing and upcoming rules and regulations affecting Lab operations.

Qualifications:

• Materials Engineer / Geologist / Civil Engineer

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years experience in the same or similar position.

Skills & Abilities Required:

• The Lab GM is well versed in ISO 17025 regulated operations.
• Ability to plan the execution of large contracts.
• Effective communication with all stakeholders and negotiation with customers to gain new business.
• Ability to manage a diverse and multinational team of employees.

Languages:

• Bilingual, Arabic and English
