Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The packaging machine operator's primary purpose is to run the packaging machine efficiently and effectively, achieve production targets, increase machine efficiency, gather hourly throughput data, manage packaging materials efficiently, oversee packers working on assigned tubes, and maintain good manufacturing practices at all times within the area.

Position in Organisation

• Direct Manager: Production (Packaging)
• Peers: Process Operator
• Subordinates: Packers (Assistant operators)

Principal Accountabilities

• Take necessary actions to achieve business results on bag makers (with or without reference to FLM).
• Ensure machine achieves required efficiency set by the department.
• Achieve material efficiency targets.
• Maintain grams give away targets (weight control monitoring).
• Manage packers working under his tubes (breaks, cleaning during changeover, timing).
• Maintain machine condition through proper maintenance checklists.
• Keep workplace and machine clean (GMP).
• Report health hazards to immediate manager.
• Ensure quality packets are produced at all times.
• Attend quality wall meetings at least 15 times per month.
• Implement and participate in continual improvement of EHS Management System, ensuring hazard controls and EHS targets are met.
