Purpose

To lead in providing Electrical Engineering oversight to ensure the safe & reliable operation of plant facilities under JIGPC in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.

Nature & Scope

Properly functioning electrical systems and equipment are critical for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant facilities. The Sr. Electrical Engineer will interact with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to provide hands-on field engineering, troubleshooting support, and technical guidance related to electrical systems including high voltage motors, protection relays, distribution systems, and specialized electronic equipment. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, organization, change management, and technical skills across engineering disciplines.

Principal Accountabilities

Safety

  • Maintain a safe work environment, employ good housekeeping, and demonstrate leadership in safety processes to prevent injuries.

Engineering

  • Lead electrical evaluations, provide technical guidance, oversee inspection and quality assurance for troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, repair, and testing activities.
  • Support construction and commissioning, maintain accurate documentation, and validate electrical drawings.
  • Perform electrical system studies and establish protective device settings.
  • Ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, and safety systems.
  • Develop standards, procedures, and guidelines for electrical systems and equipment.
  • Evaluate quotations, perform bid evaluations, and review vendor documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety circuits, SIL, and SIS programs.
  • Implement risk-based inspection and calibration programs.
  • Maintain relationships with inspection bureaus and ensure adherence to standards and regulations.
  • Use non-destructive testing to identify reliability issues.
  • Manage project activities, including scope, budget, schedule, and risk.
  • Support budget development for electrical maintenance and turnaround activities.
  • Promote teamwork, open communication, and continuous safety and reliability improvements.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and participate in industry best practice meetings.

Job Requirements

  • Engineering degree (BSEE preferred) with over 12 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, inspection, or engineering in chemical, refinery, or gas plants.
  • Experience with power system studies, protective device settings, and electrical safety standards.
  • Knowledge of SIL, SIS, SIF, SCADA, and industry standards (API, ISA, NEC/IEC, NFPA, ASME, etc.), including Saudi Aramco standards.
  • Leadership experience in guiding technical teams.
