II. POSITION SUMMARY

Working at the site to support project execution, the incumbent will interact with the site team and the project management team to execute their duties. They are responsible for onboarding and managing contractor organizations working within the JIGCC area. A good knowledge of EH&S throughout all phases of construction and commissioning is expected.

III. Principal Accountabilities

This position is accountable for:

  1. Reviewing and commenting on Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all work activities in JIGCC to ensure accuracy and validity.
  2. Supporting the full implementation of the JIGPC EH&S documentation.
  3. Working closely with project management to evaluate contractors and ensure proper onboarding.
  4. Supporting the implementation of the project emergency response plan within the accountable area.
  5. Ensuring EH&S risks are assessed and mitigation measures are in place.
  6. Assisting the project team in identifying safety concerns.
  7. Coordinating with contractors to ensure HAZID and safety reviews are completed timely.
  8. Establishing a program of inspections and audits in the area.
  9. Leading incident investigations and completing reports.
  10. Ensuring safety equipment is inspected, operational, and properly color-coded.
  11. Supporting the control of work program.
  12. Monitoring adherence to LOTO procedures, ensuring they are adequate and correctly installed.
  13. Ensuring permits are completed and implemented properly.
  14. Monitoring contractors' safety programs and practices.
  15. Providing EH&S information/expertise to the site team to ensure compliance with standards and laws.
  16. Demonstrating strong leadership throughout all project phases.
  17. Coordinating safety training for contractors.
  18. Participating in safety promotion events and campaigns.
  19. Leading and prioritizing safety issues on-site, escalating as needed.
  20. Implementing incentive and disciplinary policies to promote safety.
  21. Contributing to the completion of EH&S reports.
  22. Ensuring BSP is implemented in their work area.
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (mandatory).
  • Engineering/Science degree.
  • Safety certificates in OSHA and IOSH (or equivalent).
  • 10 years’ experience in international mega-projects as an EH&S Lead.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Knowledge of construction safety, with specialization in areas like excavations, scaffolding, lifting, etc.
  • Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to spend significant time on-site.
  • Ability to work within a complex, multinational organizational matrix.
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote locations.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
  • Experience with industrial gas projects.
  • Knowledge of EPC management.
  • Arabic language skills.
