Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT professional to join our metal fabrication workshop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure, including the ERP system, network administration, hardware/software maintenance, and providing technical support to staff. The role requires a proactive individual who can implement IT protocols, ensure system security, and collaborate with different departments to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. ERP System Management:

o Administer, modify, and customize the company’s ERP system to meet business needs.

o Train staff on ERP usage and act as the primary contact with the ERP provider for updates, troubleshooting, and enhancements.

2. IT Infrastructure & Network Administration:

o Maintain and troubleshoot the company’s network, including domain management, firewall, and VPN configurations.

o Install and configure hardware (computers, printers, network devices) and software.

o Monitor network performance and security, ensuring minimal downtime.

3. Technical Support & Training:

o Provide IT support to employees, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.

o Conduct training sessions for staff on IT systems, cybersecurity best practices, and ERP usage.

4. System Maintenance & Data Security:

o Perform regular backups, data restoration, and disaster recovery planning.

o Schedule and apply software updates, patches, and license renewals.

o Implement and enforce IT security protocols to protect company data.

5. IT Strategy & Advisory:

o Recommend suitable IT solutions (hardware, software, cloud services) to improve efficiency.

o Research and implement new technologies to support business growth.

o Work with management and other departments to align IT systems with business objectives.

o Develop and enforce IT policies for consistent use across projects and teams.

7. Website & Domain Management:

o Oversee the company website, ensuring functionality, updates, and security.

o Manage domain registrations, email systems, and hosting services.

8. On-Site IT Support for Projects:

o Travel to project sites as needed to assess IT requirements, install networking equipment, and configure devices (e.g., computers, printers, Wi-Fi, security cameras).

o Set up temporary IT infrastructure for remote or off-site operations.

o Ensure proper connectivity and integration with the company’s main network and ERP system.

Desired Candidate Profile

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

o Minimum 3+ years in IT support, network administration, and ERP system management.

o Hands-on experience with ERP customization, database management, and troubleshooting.

o Knowledge of metal fabrication or manufacturing IT environments (preferred).

· Technical Skills:

o Proficient in Windows Server, Active Directory, VPN, firewalls, and backup solutions.

o Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, or industry-specific platforms).

o Knowledge of scripting (SQL, PowerShell) for ERP modifications (a plus).

Experience in setting up IT infrastructure in industrial or construction sites (a plus).

o Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

o Ability to train non-technical staff and work collaboratively.

Working Conditions:

· On-site role in a metal fabrication workshop environment.

· Occasional after-hours support for critical system issues.

Site Visits Required: Occasional travel to project locations to install and maintain IT systems.

• Must be able to work in both office and industrial workshop/site environments.
