A leading company in the contracting industry is seeking an IT Specialist to provide technical support and maintain IT systems. This role involves troubleshooting issues, managing networks, and ensuring data security while supporting the implementation of new technologies. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and relevant IT certifications, with proven experience in a similar role.
Job Purpose:
To provide technical support, maintain IT systems, and ensure the smooth operation of the company’s infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networking—supporting all departments in line with the company’s contracting activities and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day technical support to staff across offices and project sites.
* Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
* Monitor and maintain company networks (LAN/WAN/VPN) and ensure security and uptime.
* Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords in accordance with company policy.
* Manage backup systems and disaster recovery protocols.
* Support ERP or construction management software used within the organization.
* Troubleshoot issues related to system performance, network failures, and software errors.
* Ensure cybersecurity measures are implemented and updated regularly.
* Maintain and update IT inventory including devices, licenses, and access controls.
* Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers.
* Support the implementation of new technologies and digital transformation initiatives.
* Provide training and guidance to users regarding IT systems and best practices.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
* Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, or cybersecurity-related certificates)
Experience:
* 3–5 years of proven experience as an IT Specialist or similar role.
* Experience in the contracting or construction industry is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with project-based IT support, including remote site setup and mobile connectivity.
Skills
Skills Required:
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Solid knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and networking fundamentals.
* Understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data backup systems.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of ERP or construction software (such as Oracle Primavera, SAP, or similar) is a plus.
