Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage IT security projects within our organization. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of IT security initiatives, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet organizational requirements. The role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and a deep understanding of IT security best practices and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables related to IT security, in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risk management strategies.
    • Lead and manage multiple IT security projects simultaneously, ensuring successful completion within set timelines and budget constraints.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Engage with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units, to gather requirements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing project status updates, risks, and mitigation strategies.
    • Manage customer expectations and address issues promptly to ensure high satisfaction.
  • Risk Management and Security Compliance:
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with IT security projects.
    • Ensure projects comply with relevant security standards, regulations, and internal policies (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001).
    • Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests as part of the project lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead and coordinate a diverse team of IT professionals, security engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
    • Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring open communication, problem-solving, and efficient decision-making.
    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior project team members when necessary.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Manage project budgets and allocate resources efficiently to meet project objectives.
    • Track project expenses and make adjustments to ensure the project remains on budget.
    • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely acquisition of necessary security tools, software, and hardware.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor project performance, track milestones, and resolve any issues or roadblocks.
    • Prepare and deliver regular progress reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure that all project documentation is up to date and complies with security standards.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in IT security.
    • Identify opportunities to improve project management processes and security practices within the organization.
    • Implement lessons learned from previous projects to improve the delivery of future security projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar project management qualifications (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2) preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on IT security.
  • Strong knowledge of IT security technologies, protocols, and frameworks (e.g., firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection, SIEM, vulnerability management).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to IT security (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources for large-scale projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud security and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations.
