We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented IT Project Manager to lead and coordinate infrastructure and IT services operations projects in a banking environment. This role is critical to ensuring successful delivery of high-availability, secure, and compliant IT systems that support day-to-day banking operations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing projects involving infrastructure upgrades, network/security improvements, data center initiatives, or ITSM process enhancements, within the framework of banking sector compliance and operational rigor.
Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution: Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource plans for infrastructure and IT service operations projects.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with infrastructure teams, security, business units, compliance, and external vendors to ensure alignment and delivery against project objectives.
- Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure projects adhere to banking regulatory, cybersecurity, and audit requirements. Proactively identify and manage risks and issues.
- Service Operations Focus: Drive initiatives related to ITSM improvements, including incident, change, and problem management processes aligned with ITIL best practices.
- Infrastructure Project Delivery: Manage deployment of hardware, software, cloud services, and networking infrastructure, including upgrades, migrations, and automation.
- Reporting & Communication: Provide timely updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to project sponsors and steering committees.
- Vendor Oversight: Coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure contract terms, deliverables, and SLAs are met within banking-specific compliance guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT project management, with 3+ years in banking or financial services.
- Experience managing projects in IT infrastructure, IT operations, or IT service management domains.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools and practices (e.g., BMC Remedy).
- Working knowledge of ITIL framework.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within financial institutions (e.g., data protection, audit trails, segregation of duties).
- Project management certification such as PMP
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience in delivering cloud migration, data center transformation, or endpoint security projects in banking.
- Exposure to cybersecurity standards and practices.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery methods.
- Experience coordinating across multiple business units and BT towers in a matrixed environment.
