Job description

The Information and Technology Center (ITC) at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is looking for an Enterprise Architect (EA) who will report to the Director of ITC. The EA will acquire thorough understanding of the University strategy and align and define IT systems architecture to support the strategy. Further, the EA will provide strategic direction to the ITC in terms of shaping the design architecture based on strategic business and operating models, develop principles, strategies and frameworks and ensure standards and framework compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Develop an information technology model that meets the needs and according to the strategy and goals of the university;
  2. Understand what the core business needs of the organization and find ways of fulfilling them;
  3. Document and track the business plans and any current plans that are being made which will require IT resources;
  4. Ensure service-oriented architecture (SOA) approaches toward systems and application development;
  5. Develop and maintain strategic and technology roadmaps;
  6. Develop and maintain strategic vision for the delivery of ICT based on key business drivers;
  7. Provide advice on strategy to ITC management team;
  8. Liaise with solutions architects to develop standards;
  9. Produce models to describe the artifacts, principles, frameworks and strategy.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. An MBA would be an advantage.
  2. Four (4) years of work experience in the similar position. Experienced in Higher Educational institution preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  1. The ability to identify and describe the relationship between artifacts. Artifacts are descriptions of entities that describe an enterprise. These entities include business functions, business processes, organizational structure, business systems, computing capabilities and technical infrastructure;
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  3. Broad knowledge of business processes including disaster recovery, business continuity and risk management;
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of EA frameworks such as TOGAF or FEAF;
  5. ITIL Certification (Intermediate Level or better) will be a plus.
