Job Title: Investment Analyst
Reports To: Senior Manager – Mergers & Acquisitions
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop various analytical reports on a monthly and quarterly basis to closely monitor the investments.
- Develop briefing documents with supporting analysis for investee companies.
- Develop financial models and financial platforms.
- Monitor performance and progress of portfolio investments to evaluate the ongoing viability of non-listed investments.
- Support management with market research and competitive analysis.
- Conduct accurate and insightful analysis.
- Calculate returns (IRR, ROIC, and NAV) at regular intervals.
- Provide weekly public equities portfolio reporting.
- Analyze regularly the financial and operational performance of investee companies and prepare summarizing reports.
- Highlight red flags in a timely manner.
- Analyze rationale for continuing portfolio investments, weighing opportunities for further investment or divestment.
- Research strategies for investments, including exit strategies.
- Fully participate in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Assist M&A activities.
- Screen new investment opportunities.
- Take initiative to identify and develop analytical tools for various areas of the investments.
- Collaborate with the finance division in relation to investments.
- Assist in regulatory/mandatory requirements of portfolio companies.
- Perform related ad-hoc tasks.
Accountability
- Conduct accurate and insightful analysis and research on portfolio companies.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of investment banking, private equity, or financial analysis experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, or Accounting is required.
- CFA / MBA in Finance or equivalent is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good team player.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
