Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join our Construction Supervision team for KAEC infrastructure works, including roads, utilities, and industrial facilities. The role requires 7+ years in construction supervision, with expertise in water, firefighting, irrigation, sewerage, and stormwater networks, and proficiency in English.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years in construction supervision and inspection of infrastructure projects.
• Experience inspecting water supply, firefighting, irrigation, sewerage, and stormwater systems.
• Experience with engineering consultancy or supervision consultant.
• Strong knowledge of international standards, specs, and quality requirements.
• Experience in testing and commissioning of mechanical utility networks.
• Ability to review shop drawings, submittals, and technical docs.
• Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Saudi Arabia experience preferred.
• Fluency in English; Arabic advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical infrastructure works to ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and contract requirements.
• Supervise installation activities for potable water, firefighting, irrigation, sewerage, and stormwater systems.
• Review and verify materials delivered to site meet specs and approvals.
• Witness testing, flushing, pressure tests, commissioning, and handover.
• Identify non-conforming works and track corrective actions to closure.
• Maintain inspection records and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders on technical issues.
• Verify compliance with method statements, ITPs, and quality procedures.
• Monitor contractor performance and workmanship.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and industry best practices.
• Attend site meetings and contribute to technical discussions.
• Support Resident Engineer in achieving milestones.

The role will oversee the inspection of mechanical infrastructure installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor mechanical infrastructure works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Supervise installation activities related to potable water networks, firefighting systems, irrigation systems, sewerage networks, and stormwater infrastructure. [KAEC | PowerPoint]

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of international standards, specifications, and construction quality requirements.
• Experience in testing and commissioning of mechanical utility networks.
• Ability to review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous experience in Saudi Arabia is preferred.
• Fluency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
